This path currently exits onto the bend opposite Ryman’ Pond on Apuldram Lane South, the Parish has spoken to the landowner of the orchard, who has kindly offered to extend the footpath to go down the side of his field and the access would then be opposite Church Road, which would provide access to the wider footpath network without having to walk along the road.

To ensure that by providing an alternative entrance is not more dangerous a road safety audit is required.  However, A Parish meeting has only limited powers and these have to be specifically given to them by statute, and a Parish Meeting as no power to deal with highway or road safety matters, therefore we can not raise funds through the precept.  Therefore, we need to find alternative sources of funding for any projects.

Donnington Parish Council has agreed to allocate a percentage of their Community Infrastructure Levy towards this project.
