Concern has been raised about the safety of the current access to Salterns Way Cycle Path and therefore the Parish Meeting are currently investing an alternative access on Dell Quay Road.

To ensure that by providing an alternative entrance is not more dangerous a road safety audit is required.  However, A Parish meeting has only limited powers and these have to be specifically given to them by statute, and a Parish Meeting as no power to deal with highway or road safety matters, therefore we can not raise funds through the precept.  Therefore, we need to find alternative sources of funding for any projects.

Donnington Parish Council has agreed to allocate a percentage of their Community Infrastructure Levy towards this project and the preliminary investigation works will be carried out at the same time as the extension to footpath 179.
