Further news on the upcoming flood prevention and drainage works on Appledram Lane South
Road Closure Notice – Appledram Lane South
URGENT PUBLIC NOTICE
Temporary closure of Appledram Lane South, Appledram CP, 4th November 2024.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from the date specified below, West Sussex
County Council has temporarily closed to all traffic, Appledram Lane South, Appledram CP, in the Chichester District under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, on Appledram Lane South for a distance approx 274 metres.
The urgent temporary closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 (it is estimated to be completed on 29th November 2024) and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while West Sussex County Council undertake weekday road closures between the junctions with Dell Quay Road and Fishbourne Road West for urgent drainage and flooding maintenance works.
The restriction will be in place weekdays, day-time only from 08:30 until 16:00
An alternative route will be signed on site but please visit https://one.network/?tm=140667216 for more details.
Access maintained for emergency services, residents and pedestrians.

DONNINGTON/APULDRAM: PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 196/1
NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the provisions of Section 14 (2) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the use of the route below is temporarily
prohibited:
DONNINGTON/APULDRAM: PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.196/1 as shown on the map
below.
The path closure is necessary to protect public safety whilst vegetation and surface
improvement works continue to be undertaken, with effect from 10 October 2024.
This notice enacts a 21-day closure from the date given above and this may be followed by
a further 21-day closure or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner.
Unfortunately, there is no alternative route available using the Rights of Way network.

Traffic Regulation Order Consultation – to reduce speed limit
Apuldram Parish Meeting and Apuldram Centre have been working hard over the last 18months to try and get the speed limit reduced on Appledram Lane South and Dell Quay Road to 30mph. The consultation on this project is now open.
